The Summit Reporting System
I have designed the reporting system to quickly inform you of the most important cosiderations of the home but also provide very thorough and detailed information. The reports comply with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) standards and are customized for Washington state by including a stand alone Wood Destroying Organaisms (WDO) report. The fully word processed report presented in a three ring binder includes the following tabbed sections:
The Summary - An overview in a page or two of:
The Concerns Section
-
All of the concerns are listed here to save time and facilitate negotiations
-
Structure, Exterior, Roof, Plumbing, Electrical, Heating/Airconditiong, Interior, and Kitchen/Bath/Utility concerns are listed in their respective sections.
-
Concerns are referenced in the Home Owner's Reference Encyclopedia.
The Specifications Section
- Descriptions of systems and componentsof the home as required by ASHI standards are listed in this section
A Wood Destroying Organisims (WDO) Report
- A complete "stand alone" WDO report complying to Washington state standards is included. The Washington State Pest Control Association contract is used as well as a computer generated sketch.
A Homeowner's Reference Encyclopedia
- Items noted in the Concerns and Specifications sections are explained in this reference book included in the binder. The book is written to fully explain issues relating to home inspections. With over 350 pages and nearly 1000 illustrations, this reference served as the basis for the first certification test used by the National Association of Home Inspectors. Many home inspectors say they learned more from this book than from training courses costing $2000 and more.
